Description

Polykemi Manufacturing LLC in Dallas, NC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of production equipment in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to maintain consistent product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor assigned production equipment, including plastic injection molding machines, extruders, and related machinery.
  • Adjust machine settings and process parameters to meet production requirements and quality standards.
  • Load raw materials into machines and maintain adequate material supply throughout production runs.
  • Monitor production output to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality expectations.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment issues; escalate complex maintenance needs as appropriate.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Accurately complete production logs, reports, and required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve production efficiency and resolve operational challenges.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and product quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding machines or extruders preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and production specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift up to 75 pounds
  • Frequently lift 1–50 pounds
  • Occasionally carry 51–75 pounds up to 50 feet
  • Frequently carry 1–10 pounds up to 50 feet
  • Occasionally carry 21–50 pounds up to 10 feet
  • Frequently perform stooping and firm hand grasping
  • Occasionally climb stairs or ladders
  • Occasionally reach overhead, kneel, or crouch
Compensation
Job Type: Full TimeStarting pay: $19.50 per hour
  • $21.00 per hour after 3 months (based on performance)
  • $22.50 per hour after 6 months (based on performance)
  • $24.50 per hour after 12 months (based on performance)
  • $1.00 per hour shift differential for third shift
