Machine Operator (Grinding)

Position Summary

The Grinding Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the grinding plant, which produces approximately 40% of the raw material used to make brick. This position maintains a steady supply of material for production, monitors equipment performance, identifies problems, assists with repairs, and keeps the work area clean and presentable.

Essential Responsibilities

• Report to work on time and ready to begin the shift with a positive, safety-focused attitude.
• Operate the grinding plant safely and efficiently while giving the process undivided attention.
• Keep raw material readily available to support uninterrupted production.
• Monitor equipment and material flow; recognize unusual noises, stoppages, holes, belt damage, lacing problems, and other conditions outside normal operation.
• Identify equipment problems promptly, assist with repairs, and obtain help when needed.
• Keep the entire grinding plant area, including platforms, clean and presentable at all times.
