Machine Operator - Ground Division Shop

Pittsburg Tank and Tower Group Job Description MACHINE OPERATOR Job Summary: Responsible for operating and maintaining shop machinery. May work with computer operated and/or mechanical equipment. Job Duties: Operates specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products Maintain and monitor machines to make sure it functions properly Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation Conduct periodic quality checks Verify adequate materials and supplies are available to complete operations as needed Analyze machine operations and output Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials Housekeeping and sanitation The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned Qualifications: Experience as a Machine Operator Knowledge of production procedures Ability to Read blueprints, schematics and manuals Analytical skills Attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts consistent with a fabrication shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to changing weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently handle heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
