Pittsburgh Tank and Tower Group Job Description: MACHINE OPERATOR

Job Summary: Responsible for operating and maintaining shop machinery. May work with computer operated and/or mechanical equipment.

Job Duties: • Operates specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products • Maintain and monitor machines to make sure it functions properly • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation • Conduct periodic quality checks • Verify adequate materials and supplies are available to complete operations as needed • Analyze machine operations and output • Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production • Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams • Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials • Housekeeping and sanitation

Qualifications: • Experience as a Machine Operator • Knowledge of production procedures • Ability to Read blueprints, schematics and manuals • Analytical skills • Attention to detail • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts consistent with a fabrication shop environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to changing weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently handle heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
