Job Description


Position Purpose:

As a machine operator you are responsible for setting up, running the printing machines, control the quality of the product while printing and pack it once finished. All work is to be done in accordance with AMCOR policies and procedures and customer quality expectations.

Essential Position Functions:

OHSE :

o Know and adhere to Amcor Safety & Environmental Policies to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

o Report and correct any near misses

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

o Observe all safety rules/ regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner

o Review production schedule and documentation to determine what product will be running or is to be produced

o Prepare the changeover (e.g., documentation, materials, and tooling for set-up, including mixing the ink)

o Set-up the machine as required and verify the accuracy of the set-up before starting production

o Run the machine and adjust as needed to ensure quality and output expectations are met and scrap is kept within the set goals.

o Keep the machine and workstation clean per S6

o Troubleshoot and make minor repairs or adjustments to the machine (e.g., screen and embossing die adjustments)

o Plan and prepare materials and supplies for the next order or shift

o Track production, downtime due to breakdowns, maintenance and set ups

o Review and understand KPIs. Ensure the Quality of the Product and the Satisfaction of the Customers

o Perform quality control checks, complete the related documentation. Inform the Production Manager or Quality Manager as required

o Perform daily cleaning and minor maintenance of the machine (lubrication, chain replacement)

o Sets labels and stickers according to the procedure

o Completes quality hold tag for product placed on quarantine. Participate in Production Improvement

o Record box production and waste

o Participate in weekly production meetings

o Participate in creating and developing procedures for new processes as needed

o Train senior or new coworkers as needed

o Give advice and support to colleagues as needed to run the machine safely and ensure the quality of the product

o Be willing to offer and accept help, accept constructive criticism.

o Demonstrate leadership and teamwork. Be a safety example among peers

o Perform regular behavioral audits

o Participate in the health and safety audits

o Report safety concerns

EXPERIENCE:

o Operating production equipment

o Operating screw cap printing machines (desired)

o Working with inks in general

o Quality control and quality assurance

o Troubleshooting Position Requirements

Willing to adjust schedule based on business needs, overtime, weekends or



rotate shifts as needed

Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

• 1-2 years’ experience operating a machine, printing and/or maintenance - strongly preferred

• Knowledge of wine bottle screw caps printing equipment - preferred

• Demonstrate leadership within the team

• Possess a high level of attention-to-detail and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment



• Must be able to efficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English
