Machine Operator I – 1st Shift

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator I to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating automated wire cutting equipment while ensuring finished products meet required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with measurements and production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automated wire cutting and stripping machines
• Follow process sheets and production instructions
• Change cutting blades, rollers, and guide tubes as needed
• Accurately measure materials using a ruler or tape measure
• Monitor equipment and minimize material scrap
• Count, bundle, and organize finished products
• Inspect finished products for defects and quality issues
• Read and interpret production prints
• Record applicable production information
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Move between machines and workstations as production needs change

Qualifications

• Must be able to accurately and effectively read a ruler
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Good communication skills
• Basic math skills, including fractions
• Strong attention to detail
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to perform repetitive production work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Ability to read and understand process sheets
• Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience
• Experience with automated machinery
• Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, or other measuring equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to perform repetitive hand movements
• Regularly lift and move up to 20 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, and pull as required
