Machine Operator
Location: Kansas City, MO
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 8-Hour Shift (Monday- Friday 8a-4p)
Pay: $22.00/HR
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate and monitor production equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
This position involves operating machinery, inspecting products, performing routine equipment checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform basic machine setups, adjustments, and routine equipment inspections.
- Inspect raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Record production output, downtime, and material usage accurately.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow standard operating procedures and quality control guidelines.
- Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
- Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand technical instructions and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience operating automated or CNC machinery.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
- Forklift certification or material-handling experience.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Stand and walk for extended periods, including throughout an entire shift.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
- Bend, reach, stoop, and occasionally climb ladders or stairs.
- Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work around moving machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and airborne particles within permissible safety limits.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
Schedule & Overtime
- Full-time position with standard 8-hour shifts.
- Shift times may vary based on production needs.
- Overtime may be required depending on workload.
- Three paid 10-minute rest breaks are provided per shift.
