JOB TITLE: Machine Operator 
LOCATION: Kinston, NC
PAY RATE: $29/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts and assemblies

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine sequence of operations and tooling requirements

  • Perform standard shop calculations for dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds

  • Measure, mark, and scribe stock for machining using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)

  • Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical assemblies and determine necessary materials, tools, and equipment

  • Monitor and verify part quality using statistical process control (SPC) or other quality control procedures

  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision instruments

  • Perform routine inspections of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes

Requirements:

  • Training will be provided to enable employees to perform all necessary functions

  • Some tasks may involve monitoring and adjusting CNC machines or performing quality checks throughout the production process

  • Commitment to safety and proper machine operation is essential

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship in machining or equivalent training and experience

  • Experience with manual and CNC machining preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics

  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics

  • Familiarity with standard machinist tools and techniques

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
