Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Laminator Operator I to safely operate laminating equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting production efficiency, maintaining product quality, following safety and SQF cleanliness standards, and ensuring accurate execution of work orders. The position reports to the Department Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor laminating equipment according to standard operating procedures
- Mix adhesives using established formulas and verify calculations for each production run
- Set up machines and perform first-piece inspection to ensure product specifications are met
- Interpret and follow job orders accurately
- Load and manage raw materials, substrates, and adhesive systems during production
- Change rolls and adjust impression rollers; cut or resurface as required
- Maintain the cleanliness of machines and work areas in compliance with SQF and safety standards
- Operate the lathe or auxiliary equipment when required
- Support break coverage and production continuity as needed
- Identify and report quality issues, safety hazards, and food safety concerns immediately
- Properly handle and document hazardous waste using approved containers
- Participate in audits, safety initiatives, near-miss reporting, and continuous improvement activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of machine operator or manufacturing experience preferred (lamination experience a plus)
- Ability to read a ruler or tape measure accurately
- Basic math skills (including measurements and calculations)
- Experience working with chemicals or adhesives preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong attendance record and commitment to safety and quality
