The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various types of metal fabrication machinery to produce steel components according to specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production efficiency and ensuring parts meet quality standards for use in structural steel and building systems.<\/span><\/span>

Responsibilities:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/p>

• Operate and monitor robotic welding systems and automated fabrication equipment used in the fabrication of structural steel beams and components

<\/span><\/li>

• Set up machines, tooling, and robotic programs based on production specifications, shop drawings, and work orders

<\/span><\/li>

• Fabricate structural steel beams and assemblies, including layout, fit-up, and positioning of components prior to welding

<\/span><\/li>

• Load, align, and secure beams, plates, and structural components for automated welding and fabrication processes

<\/span><\/li>

• Monitor robotic welding operations to ensure proper weld penetration, alignment, and overall structural integrity

<\/span><\/li>

• Perform basic robotic teach adjustments and program modifications as needed (where applicable)

<\/span><\/li>

• Measure and verify components using calipers, gauges, and other precision tools to ensure conformance to specifications

<\/span><\/li>

• Inspect finished beams and welds for quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with standards

<\/span><\/li>

• Identify and troubleshoot fabrication, fit-up, or equipment issues and escalate as needed

<\/span><\/li>

• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting on robotic and automated equipment

<\/span><\/li>

• Accurately document production output, scrap, and downtime

<\/span><\/li>

• Coordinate with welding and quality teams to meet daily and weekly production goals

<\/span><\/li>

• Operate steel fabrication machinery, including plasma burn tables, plasma cutters, and other metal- cutting, forming & fabrication equipment.

<\/span><\/li>

• Load raw materials into machines, ensure proper alignment, and monitor the cutting process.

<\/span><\/li>

• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.

<\/span><\/li>

• Operate and monitor CNC and manual machines such as saws, press brakes, drills, and plasma cutters.

<\/span><\/li>

• Set up machinery according to production specifications and ensure proper tooling and materials are in place.

<\/span><\/li>

• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to produce accurate components.

<\/span><\/li>

• Perform other duties as assigned.<\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>Experience: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Minimum<\/span> <\/span>2+ <\/span><\/span>years<\/span> <\/span>operating fabrication equipment, with experience in structural steel fabrication and/or robotic welding strongly preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/li>Education:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and measuring tools.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Experience with CNC equipment, automated systems, or beam lines a plus<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication details<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a manufacturing facility (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels, potential for dust/debris, wet floors).<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and handling supplies.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/li>Ability to safely handle with an overhead crane and work around large steel beams and materials<\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>Monday-Friday, <\/span>1st Shift (6:00am - 2:00pm), 2nd Shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm), 3rd Shift (10:00pm - 6:00am)<\/span><\/span><\/span>
