Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating a variety of brake press, punch press, and laser equipment in a clean manufacturing environment. You will interpret detailed blueprints, configure and adjust machines to precise specifications, and ensure parts meet quality standards. The position requires frequent handling and lifting of heavy stainless steel components and regular use of multiple brake presses throughout the week.


Responsibilities


+ Set up and operate brake press, punch press, and laser equipment according to production requirements and specifications.

+ Interpret and work from detailed blueprints to determine correct machine settings, dimensions, and tolerances.

+ Adjust machines to the correct specifications using tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.

+ Troubleshoot presses to identify and resolve issues related to setup, performance, and product quality.

+ Operate multiple brake presses throughout the week, including changing setups as needed for different jobs.

+ Check and verify the quality of parts produced, ensuring they meet required dimensions and standards.

+ Lift and position heavy stainless steel pieces, including materials weighing 50 pounds or more, onto machines safely and consistently.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with plant standards.

+ Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.

+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve any production issues promptly.


Essential Skills


+ At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment setting up and operating brake press, shear press, or laser equipment.

+ At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting presses in a production setting.

+ At least 2 years of experience reading and working from detailed blueprints.

+ Proficiency using measurement tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.

+ Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis.

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.

+ Ability to set up, adjust, and operate brake presses safely and efficiently.

+ Ability to interpret specifications and translate them into accurate machine setups.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Experience operating Cincinnati brake presses.

+ Previous experience with punch presses and laser cutting equipment.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.

+ Reliability and punctuality in a production environment.

Work Environment


This position is based in a very clean manufacturing plant with a strong emphasis on safety and organization. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a four-day workweek. The dress code includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a t-shirt, suitable for a hands-on production environment that involves frequent lifting and handling of stainless steel materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
