Machine Operator

Mancan is working with a company in Mt Vernon seeking 3rd shift machine operators. Openings are available in the flowtite, 12" boot, and TY areas. Hours are Sunday-Thursday, 6:30pm-5am with overtime on Fridays as needed. Training will take place on 1st shift, Monday-Thursday from 5am-3:30pm for the first 6-8 weeks. Pay starts at $18.50. TY and 12" boot departments switch to piece rate pay when hired permanently.

12" Boot:
- Operate 5-6 semi-automatic and manual machines such as riveters, norloches, and co-latching machines to create 12" boots with some variances
- Use precision measuring tools to conduct quality checks

Flowtite:
- Work with one other operator to operate a coil fed machine that cuts and rolls sheet metal
- One operator rivets pieces of sheet metal and places into machine to add a flange
- Second operator labels, adds foam gasket, and damper
- Perform tool & die setup/changeovers

TY:
- Rivet blank sheet metal together and add collars to each piece to create T pipes and Y pipes of various sizes

Qualifications:
- Must be mechanically inclined and have prior manufacturing experience.
- Experience with reading precision measuring tools
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
- Strong attention to detail
- High school diploma or GED
