PEM OPERATOR
Monday - Thursday
5:30 am - 4:00 pm
$18.50 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set up and operate PEM insertion equipment to install self-clinching fasteners, studs, nuts, and standoffs into metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications to ensure accurate fastener placement.
- Inspect parts before, during, and after production to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Load, unload, and position materials while maintaining safe and efficient production flow.
- Make basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues to maintain quality and minimize downtime.
- Accurately complete required production and quality documentation.
- Identify and report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following established safety procedures.
- Work with production and quality teams to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience operating PEM insertion equipment, press equipment, or similar metal fabrication machinery preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and inspection procedures preferred.
- Ability to identify various types and sizes of PEM hardware and ensure accurate installation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
