Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Press Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Pittsburg, Kansas. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring printing press equipment to produce high-quality products while meeting customer specifications, production schedules, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has previous machine operating experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED required
3 12 months of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
Ability to read and understand production instructions and work orders
Basic math skills including percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate printing press equipment according to production specifications
Plan and execute production jobs to meet delivery schedules
Select appropriate materials, films, solvents, and equipment setups for each job
Match colors to customer specifications and quality requirements
Monitor production and troubleshoot print defects as needed
Load sleeves, film, and production materials into equipment
Inspect running film for flaws, defects, and splices
Remove finished products from presses and prepare for the next operation
Clean presses, pumps, and equipment according to company standards
Pull production stock from storage as required
Train and assist Press Assistants as needed
Complete production reports and required documentation accurately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating printing presses or similar manufacturing equipment
Forklift, hoist, hand truck, or slitter machine experience
Experience with production quality inspections and troubleshooting
Mechanical maintenance or equipment adjustment experience
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 200 lbs occasionally with assistance
Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and overhead work
Strong visual abilities, including color recognition and depth perception
Ability to work safely around moving industrial equipment
