Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laminator Machine Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Pittsburg, KS. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring industrial lamination equipment while ensuring finished products meet production requirements, customer specifications, and established quality standards.
The ideal candidate has previous machine operating or manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED required
Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred
Ability to read and follow work orders, specifications, and production instructions
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and calculations
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate laminator equipment according to production specifications
Prepare and mix adhesives according to production requirements
Verify correct materials, adhesives, and specifications before beginning each production run
Perform test runs and submit product samples for quality review
Monitor machine performance throughout production and make adjustments as necessary
Conduct routine quality checks to ensure finished products meet customer specifications
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor machine maintenance when necessary
Complete production reports, quality records, and required documentation accurately
Assist with material preparation and production scheduling activities
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous laminator operating experience
Forklift or hoist operating experience
Experience working with adhesives or similar manufacturing materials
Previous production machine setup experience
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent use of hands, arms, and upper-body movements during machine operation
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to move heavier materials using appropriate material-handling equipment
Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive physical activity
Comfortable working around industrial machinery and production equipment
Work Environment
Industrial manufacturing and production facility
Exposure to moving machinery, industrial noise, fumes, and airborne particles
Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
