We are hiring a Production Worker / Machine Operator for a full-time manufacturing position in Pittsburgh, PA. This role combines machine operation, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, material handling, and packaging.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with manufacturing equipment and hand tools. Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is preferred, but candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment, including:
CNC punch presses
Hydraulic press brakes / metal brakes
Metal shears
Perform basic machine setups, tooling changes, and equipment adjustments.
Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings.
Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools.
Inspect finished parts to ensure proper dimensions, fit, and quality.
Deburr, clean, and prepare fabricated metal parts for assembly or shipment.
Assemble products and components according to work instructions.
Pick materials and products from inventory based on work orders and customer orders.
Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against packing slips.
Inspect products for defects before packaging.
Package, weigh, label, and prepare finished products for shipment.
Maintain accurate inventory and report shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies.
Complete production, shipping, and receiving documentation.
Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines and work areas.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment when authorized.
Follow all safety procedures, machine operating instructions, and quality standards.
Perform additional production, fabrication, warehouse, and packaging duties as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, warehouse, or metal fabrication is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
Ability to safely operate machinery after training.
Ability to read and follow work orders, blueprints, or shop drawings.
Comfortable using a tape measure, calipers, square, and other measuring tools.
Basic math skills, including fractional and decimal measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must be at least 18 years old.
