Description
Main Purpose:
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines and equipment. This position is located in Houston, Texas at our Englobal shop.
Essential Functions:
- Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order
- Perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the production procedures
- Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
- Feed information akin to speed, shapes and sizes through the machine set up box
- Place parts in semi-automated machines
- Calibrate machines at the beginning of each shift
- Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
- Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
- Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out
- Perform random tests to ensure accuracy
- Perform safety checks on every machine
- Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
- Ensure stocks of needed materials are ready and available at all times
- Create and maintain activity logs
- Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
- Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
- Pushing, pulling and reaching
- Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years operating one or more of the following machines: press brake, sheat metal shears and / or plasma table
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime if necessary
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Willingness to learn
Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:
- 3+ years operating a plasma table, press brake and sheet metal shears
- Experience operating a forklift
Tools, Equipment, and Technology:
- Various machines and presses
- Various equipment, including forklifts
Environmental Conditions:
80% to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust and mud etc.
