Title: Machine Operator Location: Rainsville, AL Duration: 12 Months (Contract) Pay Range: Pay rate will be $15.00/hr during training on 1st shift. Associate will receive a $2.00/hr ($17.00)shift differential when moved to 2nd shift. Shift Time: First shift is 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM, Second Shift will be 03:30PM - Midnight.
Job Description The Utility Worker is a second shift position responsible for performing various tasks dependent on business needs to meet specifications, quality standards, and production requirements throughout all stages of production.
Responsibilities
Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including proper use of required PPE.
Operate a variety of coil winding equipment, including hand-guided bench lathe machines and two-layer coil operations such as Bachi, Broomfield, and hand winders.
Prepare coils for final stages of building and testing, including bending, shaping, cutting, sanding, soldering, and attaching wires/lugs with lugs or crimps.
Use pneumatic and hydraulic crimping tools.
Operate a robotic welder.
Use epoxy and silica sand to accomplish potting of transformers keeping waste to acceptable levels.
Utilize various lift assist equipment to move product.
Utilize lift assistance to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds.
Participate in physical inventory activities.
Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
Perform additional or updated duties as business demands change.
Qualifications
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret processes, visual aids, control drawings, bills of material, specifications, plans, drawings, shop aids, instructions, and examples.
Good time management skills.
Self-motivation skills, high level of organization, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently or with a team.
The ability to pivot between assignments and adjust to changing priorities
Must Have
Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Working at a fast pace.
Standing the entire shift.
Manually handling up to 40 pounds often by lift, push, or pull.
Utilize lift assistance for items weighing over 40 pounds
Working with the various distractions of a manufacturing environment.
Extensive work with hands requires good hand dexterity and repetitive motions.
Bending, stooping, and reaching occasionally.
Work in a small, narrow space as required.
