Responsibilities
- Operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, presses, forming machines, punches) to cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, and structures.
- Read job specifications/work orders to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, and required quality checks.
- Set stops/guides to specified lengths using scales, rules, or templates; position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with dies/blades.
- Activate/monitor machines during processing to ensure dimensional accuracy and part quality.
- Conduct minor machine maintenance (e.g., oiling) and keep accurate production records (quantities completed, documentation per work instructions).
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine operator, press operator, press brakes or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
