Machine Operator

This role operates production machinery with a high level of precision and reliability. The Machine Operator uses precision measuring tools, follows detailed instructions, and applies strong mechanical aptitude to set up, run, and monitor machines safely and efficiently. The position requires consistent attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly in English while working collaboratively with the production team.

• Set up, operate, and monitor production machines in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify product dimensions and ensure quality standards.
• Perform machine setups and adjustments to support efficient production and minimize downtime.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and assist in resolving basic mechanical and operational issues on production equipment.
• Handle dyes and related materials as needed to support production processes, following proper handling procedures.
• Support stranding and rotary operations when required, contributing to various stages of the production process.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records related to production runs, measurements, and machine settings as directed.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, keeping the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Demonstrate reliable punctuality and attendance, consistently working scheduled shifts and completing assigned tasks.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• At least 5 years of solid machine operating experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical systems.
• High proficiency with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Experience setting up machines for production runs.
• Strong applied mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and tolerances.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliable attendance, and consistent work history.

• Experience working with dyes in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Stranding experience is a plus.
• Rotary machine experience is a plus.
• Troubleshooting skills and experience diagnosing machine or process issues are a plus.
• Demonstrated tenure and stability in previous roles, showing commitment and reliability.

The role is based in a production and manufacturing environment that focuses on machine operation and mechanical processes. Team members can select from two primary schedules: four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or five 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Voluntary overtime is available for those who want additional hours. Training takes place on the same schedule as the assigned shift and is conducted alongside an experienced team member, with duration dependent on how quickly the individual learns the equipment and processes. The environment emphasizes punctuality, consistent attendance, and safe operation of machinery while using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Matthews, SC.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
