Job Summary: The Machine Parts Inspector I is responsible for conducting detailed inspections on a wide range of precision and complex in-process and finished machine parts, components, castings, forgings, fabricated sheet metal parts, and hardware. This position ensures compliance with AS9100 standards and customer specifications while maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy in all inspection processes. The role also involves assisting in maintaining quality systems, verifying vendor certifications, and supporting the training of new inspectors. Key Responsibilities: Perform mechanical inspections of parts, including first article, in-process, and final inspections. Verify materials, processes, and certifications from sub-tier vendors. Complete all applicable inspection documentation in accordance with AS9100 standards. Perform quality assurance tasks to ensure the timely delivery of precision-machined parts. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area; handle tools, equipment, and stock properly to prevent damage or loss. Assist in training other Machine Parts Inspector I personnel. Participate in calibration of inspection tools and development/enforcement of quality system procedures per AS9100 and military/customer specifications. Accurately document inspection results and enter data into electronic or manual systems. Ensure all required process operations are completed before product inspection. Follow written instructions and perform work independently with minimal supervision. Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Minimum of 6 years of mechanical inspection and/or machining experience. Proficiency in complex blueprint reading and advanced job shop mathematical calculations. Skilled in inspection techniques including manual CMM operation and the use of precision measuring tools. Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5. Familiarity with AS9100-based quality management systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Education: High School or equivalent
