SCHEDULE: ROTATING 10-HOUR SHIFTS; 6:00 AM TO 4:30 PM OR 4:00 PM TO 2:30 AM

- THIS IS FOR A HELPER POSITION, SO PREVIOUS CNC EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED
- MUST HAVE STABLE WORK TENURE; AVOID SUBMITTING ANY JOB HOPPERS
- MUST HAVE A HIGH WILLINGNESS TO LEARN
- MUST BE RELIABLE/DEPENDABLE
- MUST HAVE A GOOD ATTENDANCE RECORD AND PLACE IMPORTANCE ON PUNCTUALITY
- MUST HAVE GREAT COMMUNICATION SKILLS (WRITTEN & VERBAL)

JOB SUMMARY: The Machinist Helper works under the direction of CNC machinists, supervisors, and other experienced manufacturing personnel and is expected to maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist CNC machinists with daily machining and production activities.
- Load and unload parts, raw material, tooling, and fixtures as directed.
- Assist with moving material and completed components between manufacturing operations.
- Clean and prepare parts before and after machining operations.
- Remove chips, debris, cutting fluids, and other contaminants from completed components as required.
- Perform basic deburring, cleaning, and part preparation using approved tools and methods.
- Assist machinists with tooling, inserts, jaws, chucks, fixtures, and other workholding equipment.
- Stage materials, tooling, gauges, and documentation required for upcoming jobs.
- Assist with basic machine cleaning and routine operator maintenance as directed.
- Maintain coolant levels and remove chips from machines and work areas as assigned.
- Learn basic CNC lathe operation and machining terminology through hands-on training.
- Assist with basic dimensional inspections under the direction of qualified personnel.
- Use basic measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges when trained and authorized.
- Follow job travelers, work instructions, and production documentation.
- Identify and report damaged parts, tooling, equipment, or other abnormal conditions to the appropriate machinist or supervisor.
- Perform phosphate coating of manufactured components according to established procedures and work instructions.
- Prepare parts for phosphate coating by cleaning, degreasing, rinsing, or performing other required surface-preparation processes.
- Load and unload components into phosphate coating tanks or processing equipment using approved handling methods.
- Follow the required processing sequence, immersion times, temperatures, and other established process parameters.
- Monitor phosphate coating solutions and process conditions as required by established procedures.
- Perform required process checks and accurately document results.
- Inspect coated components for proper coverage, appearance, cleanliness, and other specified requirements.
- Properly rinse, dry, preserve, and handle components following the phosphate coating process.
- Prevent contamination, damage, corrosion, or improper handling of processed components.
- Maintain phosphate tanks, processing areas, racks, baskets, and related equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Notify the supervisor or appropriate personnel when process conditions are outside established limits.
- Follow established procedures for handling and identifying nonconforming components.
- Follow all applicable procedures for the safe handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and process materials.
- Review and follow applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical-handling requirements.
- Wear required PPE when performing phosphate coating, chemical handling, cleaning, and related activities.
- Immediately report chemical spills, leaks, equipment problems, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with applicable housekeeping requirements.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
- Properly use and care for company tools, equipment, gauges, and PPE.
- Accurately complete required production and process documentation.
- Work effectively with machining, quality, maintenance, and other manufacturing personnel.
- Meet established safety, quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.
- Participate in required safety, quality, chemical-handling, and job-specific training.
- Perform other manufacturing and shop-support duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous manufacturing or machine-shop experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Ability to perform basic shop mathematics.
- Ability to learn the proper use of basic measuring and inspection equipment.
- Ability to accurately complete production and process documentation.
- Ability to safely handle manufactured components, tooling, and shop equipment.
- Ability to follow chemical-handling procedures and applicable SDS requirements.
- Ability to work safely around CNC machinery, chemicals, metal chips, cutting fluids, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a manufacturing team.
