  • Ensure all team members follow safety protocols, proper use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment like MIG welders
  • Conduct quality control inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for machining issues involving Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), CNC programming errors, or mechanical failures
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, tooling inventories, and maintenance schedules
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members on fabrication techniques, assembly processes, and the use of SolidWorks for design review
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development using CAD/CAM software and ensure seamless communication between design and manufacturing

Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising a machine shop or manufacturing environment with hands-on knowledge of CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brakes, and manual machining tools
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T specifications, and precision measurement techniques using micrometers and calipers
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, CAM programming software, and SolidWorks for design interpretation and modification
  • Knowledge of welding processes such as MIG welding along with fabrication skills involving hand tools and power tools
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for machine automation troubleshooting
  • Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, fabrication techniques, assembly procedures, and quality control standards
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts safely and efficiently
  • Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining tasks
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices to streamline operations and improve productivity
  • Strong communication skills for effective team leadership and collaboration across departments
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
