CNC Machine Shop Supervisor

Compensation: 90k+, 10% bonus, great shift differential, 4 day work week
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Shop Supervisor to lead and oversee daily operations within our precision machining department. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving production efficiency, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a strong team culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate activities of CNC machinists, operators, and setup personnel to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Plan and assign work, ensure proper setup of CNC machines, and verify that tooling and fixtures are available for production runs.
Oversee the troubleshooting of machining issues, tool changes, and program adjustments to ensure minimal downtime.
Monitor production processes to maintain product quality and adherence to specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve process, tooling, or quality issues.
Conduct regular team meetings to reinforce safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate documentation including production reports, attendance, and performance records.
Promote and enforce safety practices, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Identify training needs and facilitate skills development for team members.
Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives within the shop to drive productivity and organization.
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Strong understanding of CNC programming, setups, tooling, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with a variety of CNC machines (mills, lathes, multi-axis preferred).
Solid leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.
Effective communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
Proficiency with reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and shop drawings.
Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations in a machine shop environment.
