Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and promote a safe working environment and safe work procedures. Conduct and/or facilitate safety training as needed within the department.
Maintain and promote quality in all manufacturing activities and products.
Develop and maintain a production schedule to support direct customer shipments and other departmental needs.
Promote efficient work practices with an emphasis on value-added labor.
Monitor and update time standards and scheduling expectations as needed.
Communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintain and improve staff performance through training and development.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the proper use of equipment, resources, and control points.
Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Promote company policies and resolve personnel issues by analyzing information, investigating concerns, identifying solutions, and recommending appropriate actions.
Provide constructive feedback to all associated staff.
Follow, monitor, and improve shop SOPs and processes, including specific, tested, and approved welding procedures where applicable.
Emphasize and train staff on desired product quality and aesthetics.
Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure on-time production and delivery.
