Description

The Machine Shop Supervisor manages the maintenance, repair, and modification of plastic injection molds, ensuring high-quality, efficient tool performance and minimal production downtime. They coordinate Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, troubleshoot tooling issues, and enforce strict safety standards within the tool shop. This is an 8-hour position that pays between $105-$120K annually•

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans and supervises all activities in the department.
  • Trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work and addresses issues and resolves problems.
  • Oversees the inspection of molds and the cleaning, disassembling, polishing, and assembling molds when necessary.
  • Oversees the construction of fixtures, polishing of molds, tooling, accessories including cylinders, DME's, cams, etc.
  • Coordinates inspection and maintenance of cranes and chains by outside vendor annually.
  • Able to work closely with other Department Managers and Supervisors to solve problems and provide solutions with mold issues.
  • Discuss mold changes and improvements with Engineering Manager.
  • Coordinates outside work by vendors.
  • Responsible for purchasing of hardware and components with approved vendors.
  • Reports and investigates all accidents and incidents. Will be required to complete accident and incident reports in a timely manner and submits to Human Resources.
  • Ensures that all employees are properly trained
  • Maintains neat, clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout molding room.
  • Maintains labor budget requirements.
  • Utilizes HRIS/UKG, Mold Management System, Upkeep CMMS, and Coupa.
  • Maintains a fair, firm, and friendly work environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience as well as mold-making, maintenance, and repair.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mold design, mold components and machining processes.
  • Leadership: Strong team management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
