Machine Software Validation EngineerPosition Location: Tucson, AZ, USAWork Model: OnsiteShift: M-F, 7am - 3:30pmEmployment Type: TemporaryFull-TimeMin Hourly Rate: $40.00Max Hourly Rate: $45.00Must Have Skills/Attributes: Data Analysis, Equipment Commissioning, Mechanical Troubleshooting, Testing, Validation Experience Desired: Machine Software & Controls Testing (2+ yrs); Test Validation & Execution (2+ yrs); Troubleshooting & Diagnostic Tools (2+ yrs); Heavy Equipment / Mechanical Systems (2+ yrs); Engineering Data Analysis & Technical Documentation (2+ yrs)Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's DegreeJob Description Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1-2 years of experienceRequired Qualifications:The main function of a research engineer is to support machine software and controls developmentA typical research engineer will work on engineering assignments that build expertise in machine products, systems and technology platformsThe focus will be on current and next generation machine software testing, controls feature evaluations and offboard connectivity validation to ensure products perform as intended and meet high quality standards and customer expectationsRequired Technical Skills:Experience in testing or validation within heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machineryExperience designing and executing testing strategiesExperience with construction, forestry, mining or agricultural equipment is a plusAbility to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to machine software and controlsUse tools such as CANape and CANalyzer for machine functionalityCreativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilityTeam player and detail orientedAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematicsAbility to work on your feet for extended periods in varied conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, dusty)Ability to safely operate equipment after trainingResponsibilities:Make safety the top priority and champion continuous improvement in every aspect of testingPlan and execute software and controls tests for current and next generation machines and technology platforms to confirm they meet program and customer requirementsCollaborate with extended engineering, software and technology teams, develop test plans, document standard work procedures, execute checkouts and validation activities, and analyze resultsApply hands-on skills and technical knowledge to troubleshoot and validate a variety of complex electrical, electronic, and software systemsWork closely with on-site engineers, technicians, and operators to deliver projects on time and within budgetUse tools like CANape, CANalyzer, Excel, PowerBI and MS Office to turn raw data into actionable insightsSupport test and validation activities on large mining equipmentTest validation – validating the functionality of software and controls features; common area – carrying out requirements; system level testing; working with mechanics, instrumentation technicians and operators
