    Description

    Provides mechanical support for manufacturing/packaging operations associated with the production of Nutramax's quality products as well as facility maintenance

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Planning and organizing the mechanical steps required in the production of safe, quality products.
    • Set-up/Operate Nutraceutical-processing and packaging equipment with functionality in conformance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), clean rooms, perform varied Preventive Maintenance duties, and equipment according to Standard Procedures.
    • Performing set-up and adjustments to manufacturing/packaging equipment to ensure assigned machines run at peak efficiency and operations are within the cGMP guidelines and SOPs.
    • Set-up/Operate miscellaneous related equipment, repair and/or report defects immediately.
    • Clean and inspect contact parts for wear or damage.
    • Responsible for signing off each equipment before being placed in operation, if necessary.
    • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Maintaining and repairing all mechanical equipment pertaining to production, including but not limited to, filling, packaging and manufacturing equipment, in accordance with cGMP procedures
    • Performing general facilitiy maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC and electrical, as needed.
    • Interacting with external vendors or contractors for services associated with the mechanical operations of production equipment and facilities.
    • Must be able to prioritize task to best suit Operations.
    • Maintaining spare parts inventory.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Adhering to all established Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Policies (i.e., lockout/tagout).
    • Performing assigned preventive maintenance tasks for production equipment and facilities operations.
    • Training new employees on Operating, Safety and Maintenance of equipment, SOPs and GMPs on an as needed basis.
    • Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives
    • Regular attendance is required.
    • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.
    • Will be required to work overtime to complete PMs and/or repairs during downtime.
    • Work schedule may be changed and/or overtime mandatory as deemed necessary to preform maintenance and/or repairs.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • Previous experience and/or process knowledge in a Maintenance Role is a plus.
    • Must be able to work at a fast pace to achieve daily goals.
    • Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to use basic hand tools.
    • Regularly required to stand and bend
    • Must be able to use hands and arms to lift and reach
    • Ability to climb up and down stairs
    • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours
    • Ability to lift, pull and push a minimum of 50 pounds
    • Ability to use both arms to push , pull or lift.
    • Ability to bend and squat

    Education and Experience This position requires a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a GMP or Pharmaceutical environment
