Your mission

Be the on-site controls expert who launches, stabilizes, and elevates EMAG machine tools and automation cells. You’ll turn complex Siemens control stacks into reliable production assets—then equip customer teams to keep them running at peak performance.

Impact areas

  • Install, commission, and validate EMAG equipment at customer facilities across North America (and internationally when needed).
  • Own Siemens configuration and optimization: SINUMERIK, SIMATIC PLCs, TIA Portal, STEP 7, WinCC, and associated drives.
  • Lead start-up sequences: verify systems, execute I/O checks, validate safety circuits, and complete operational testing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair controls/electrical faults across PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, and communications networks.
  • Edit PLC logic, adjust machine parameters, refine HMI screens, and tailor control configurations.
  • Conduct machine acceptance testing and support final customer buy-off.
  • Deliver hands-on training for operators, maintenance, programmers, and engineering personnel.
  • Provide timely remote support to customers and internal service teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Commissioning, Mechanical Service, and Customer Service to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Document work performed with detailed service reports and actionable recommendations.
  • Contribute to upgrades, retrofits, control modernizations, and software improvements.
  • Help refine commissioning procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
  • Uphold customer site safety rules and EMAG safety policies; represent EMAG with professionalism.

What you bring

  • Associate or Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Industrial Controls, or related discipline preferred; Journeyman Electrician or equivalent industrial experience considered.
  • At least 5 years in industrial controls, machine tool service, automation, or electrical commissioning.
  • Organized, calm under pressure, excellent communicator, dependable; able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Deep Siemens automation familiarity plus exposure to Fanuc or other control platforms.
  • Comfort reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic; working knowledge of ISO 9001/14001.
