Job Title: Machinery Support Technician

1. Job Summary

Responsible for the installation and servicing of packaging, palletizing, and conveying equipment in industrial facilities.


2. Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, layouts, and diagrams to ensure proper implementation and adherence to specifications.
  • Install, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency.
  • Align, level, and calibrate equipment according to process validation requirements.
  • Use power tools, jigs, and assembly devices for accurate and efficient system assembly.
  • Manufacture low-complexity mechanical components as needed.
  • Support functional validation and testing to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
  • Disassemble, pack, and prepare equipment for shipment, ensuring safe handling.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials following company standards.
  • Follow all company and client safety protocols and workplace regulations.
  • Respond to additional safety and operational requirements as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to plan and execute field activities.
  • Provide regular project updates, including progress, milestones, and challenges.
  • Participate in project reviews, meetings, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Maintain a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Travel as required to install, inspect, and maintain equipment at client sites.
  • Perform technical assistance and maintenance tasks related to mechanical systems.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

4. Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with packaging machine installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D layouts using AutoCAD.

5. Experience

  • Less than 1 year of experience required.

6. Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred.

7. Additional Responsibilities

  • Supervise onsite teams and contractors.
  • Ensure project technical results and timely delivery.
  • Work with ERP systems, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, PLC software, and robot software.
  • Interact with coworkers, management, and customers.

8. Other Requirements

  • 50% or more travel within the United States and Canada.
  • Travel to Torfresma headquarters in Brazil for training and project FAT.
  • Ability to work in environments such as food processing and meat plants.

9. Working Conditions

  • Exposure to noise and extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
