Title: Machining Process Engineer
Shift: Day Shift (Specific hours to be determined based on production needs)
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000, plus retirement savings plan with company matching opportunity; exact compensation is dependent on skills and experience
Machining Process Engineer Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Machining Process Engineer to develop, improve, and support all manufacturing processes associated with the launch, manufacture, and testing of products in an assigned value stream. This role exists to optimize workflows, troubleshoot machining problems, and ensure strict compliance with design and safety specifications to drive manufacturing efficiency
Machining Process Engineer Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes while maintaining strict compliance with design specifications
Program multi-axis $(5+)$ CNC equipment, create code, and perform tool path simulations
Serve as the primary manufacturing contact for design engineering and program management teams
Create and maintain manufacturing methods, Bills of Materials, and labor standards within the ERP system
Design, construct, and validate required tooling, fixtures, gages, and production equipment
Analyze manufacturing variances and design cell workflows with a focus on waste reduction and continuous improvement
Troubleshoot and solve complex manufacturing problems within a high-precision machining environment
Mentor, guide, and prioritize workloads for lower-level manufacturing and process engineers
Address customer complaints and support supply chain teams with supplier development activities
Adhere to corporate EHS policies and occupation-specific safety protocols, including personal protective equipment rules
Machining Process Engineer Reporting Relationships:
The Machining Process Engineer reports directly to the Engineering Manager and provides operational direction, guidance, and mentorship to Level I Process Engineers on the production floor.
About You:
Possess 5–10 years of professional machining and manufacturing engineering experience
Hold a minimum of 5 years of CAD and CAM software experience, with Mastercam and AutoCAD Inventor 3D modeling preferred
Maintain the ability to read and interpret complex 2D blueprints and 3D models alongside a working knowledge of GD&T
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of both manual and CNC machining equipment, specifically multi-axis programming
Exhibit hands-on troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities utilizing statistical analysis
Display excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills to successfully train employees and implement change
Maintain a four-year degree in engineering, with mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering preferred
Hold a proficiency with Microsoft Office products and a willingness to learn Vericut software
Meet the physical requirements to lift up to 40lbs, use stairs, and stand or sit for prolonged periods as needed
Demonstrate the ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings and occupational medical exams
