    Position Title: Machining, Utility & Maintenance Technician

    Location: Canton, Michigan
    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
    Job Type: Full-Time


    Position Summary

    We are seeking a skilled Machining, Utility & Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Canton, Michigan. In this hands-on role, you will perform a variety of machining, maintenance, utility, and production support functions to ensure equipment, tooling, machinery, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, and related shop equipment.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and work instructions.
    • Fabricate, modify, repair, and install machine components, fixtures, tooling, guards, and production support equipment.
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic components.
    • Troubleshoot and repair machinery to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
    • Assist with equipment installations, machine moves, changeovers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify dimensions and tolerances.
    • Maintain maintenance records, parts inventory, and work order documentation.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience in industrial maintenance, machining, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
    • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and common machine shop equipment.
    • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
    • Technical degree, vocational training, certification, or equivalent work experience preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

    Physical Requirements

    • Regularly use manual dexterity to assemble, position, and manipulate parts accurately.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
    • Must be able to lift up to 44 pounds as needed.
