Location: Fully Onsite in Farmington, CT 11:00PM - 7:30AM Type: Direct Hire Salary: $30 per hour Plus Excellent Benefits

Position Summary: The Machinist is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of EDM, CNC, and other machining equipment on a continuous basis. This role ensures production output requirements are met by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving machining issues while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate EDM, CNC, and related equipment using established programs, fixtures, and machining methods.
  • Make edits and machine adjustments as needed to produce parts according to work orders, blueprints, specifications, and sketches.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of machining feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and tool applications.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  • Produce work that meets company standards for both quality and quantity.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including production counts, scrap, labor time, and related paperwork.
  • Follow proper machining procedures and best practices at all times.
  • Maintain work area, equipment, and tooling in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Complete operator maintenance sheets and perform basic equipment upkeep as required.
  • Train, guide, and support other team members as needed.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying and solving process or system-related issues, collaborating with team members and other departments as necessary.
  • Comply with all OSHA, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope and skill level of the position to support departmental objectives and individual development.

Qualifications Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience operating EDM, CNC, CMM, or related equipment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to follow technical instructions.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing ERP systems, preferably JobBOSS.
