CNC Machinist II Must-Have Requirements
35+ years CNC machining experience in job shop or manufacturing environment
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes
Ability to make minor CNC program edits
Strong math skills (angles, feeds/speeds, fraction-to-decimal conversions)
Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Ability to work in a production-driven environment with quality focus
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
CNC Machinist II Position Summary
Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment
Maintain production within assigned work cell while meeting quality standards
Support and mentor less experienced machinists
Ensure efficient machining operations through proper setup and tooling
Maintain consistent output in a fast-paced machine shop environment
CNC Machinist II Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders)
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing specs
Perform minor edits to CNC programs as needed
Calculate feeds, speeds, and machining parameters for optimal results
Inspect parts using calipers, O.D./I.D. micrometers, and other precision tools
Maintain tooling accuracy and verify inserts and setups
Follow 5S and lean manufacturing practices
Maintain productivity within assigned cell
Train and mentor junior machinists
Communicate with leads and team members regarding production and quality issues
Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
Perform additional duties as assigned
CNC Machinist II Additional Qualifications
Job shop machining experience strongly preferred
Experience with lean manufacturing environments a plus
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and teamwork skills
High attention to detail and quality standards
