Overview:

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) in the Technical Services Department.

Responsibilities:

1. Must be able to display and execute a Safety First stance with yourself and your coworkers.
2. Must be able to perform all CNC tasks to include set-up, programming, operate, and maintain all CNC equipment with little or no supervision.
3. Must be able to hold tolerances of +/- .0001 with either CNC or manual machines.
4. Must be able to work individually or as a member of a team to accomplish assigned tasks.
5. Must wear appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed and immediately communicate all safety concerns with management

Qualifications:

Must meet all the requirements for Machinist A (Job Code 4847) and have three (3) additional years or experience for a total of ten (10) years of machine shop or applicable trade school experience or a combination of both.

Must show proficiency using Cam Works programming software within 90 days from accepting this position. If it is determined by management that you cannot perform with this software, you will be returned to your former position.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (state).

Must pass a physical examination as determined by the WSTF physical examination requirements for the job classification.

Must have basic computer skills.

Must be able to meet the requirements for certification, if applicable, as specified in the White Sands Training Database (WTDB).
