We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join a growing sheet metal manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am
Pay: $20-25/hour
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including mills, lathes, drills, and related machinery.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform machine adjustments and tool changes to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot equipment and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Assist with fabrication and sheet metal production processes as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet customer requirements and production deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience machinist experience in a manufacturing or sheet metal environment
- 3-5+ years experience operating manual and/or CNC machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments and quality inspection procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and tools.
- Comfortable working in a production and shop environment with varying noise levels.
