Job Summary

A Machinist II safely and accurately operates a CNC or manual machine that fabricates tubes, rods, and components used in hydraulic cylinders.Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances. Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products. Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics. Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues. Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear. May require an associate degree in manufacturing technology or equivalent. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.

This is a dayshift position. Monday - Thursday 5:30am-4:00pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Operates a CNC machine to fabricate tubes, rods, and components
  • Operates a manual machine for fabrication.
  • Reads mechanical drawings for components, tubes, rods and makes needed calculations
  • Interprets instructions and responds to management's direction
  • Uses quality control equipment, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
  • Ensures preventive maintenance is conducted as necessary
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Selects and uses appropriate equipment, supplies and tools
  • Maintains equipment daily
  • Follows safety and security policies and procedures and reports any unsafe conditions
  • Maintains a clean work environment
  • Adheres to Five "S" standards and procedures

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to independently set up and run two or more of either CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, program Mazatrol and G- Code, or rework/fabricate complete parts on manual lathe/mill
  • Conversational programming experience

Preferred

Experience in a production environment
