The Machinist IV produces precision parts using machine tools and equipment. This involves measuring workpieces, installing machine parts, and performing quality inspections.
Responsibilities
Estimate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements
Program complex parts to be machined
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations
Measure and outline the parts to be machined using various devices and tools in order to obtain accurate dimensions
Design complexed manufacturing fixtures
Mentor and train junior machinists
