Machinist Job Duties And Responsibilities
A machinist should expect to perform many different duties, which can include:
- Grind or cut plastic, metal or other materials.
- Produce parts for mechanical equipment such as motor vehicles or aircraft.
- Work in machine shops making small parts to help repair mechanical tools.
- Read and understand design instructions, making precise measurements for needed parts.
- Inspect machined parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards.
