This Lab Technician role supports students, faculty, and staff in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department, focusing on maintaining the Additive Manufacturing Lab for the MIE Capstone program, which involves about 195 students per semester developing prototypes.
Key responsibilities include
- managing and operating the 3D printing lab,
- assisting students with 3D design,
- upkeeping the Capstone studio,
- and
- collaborating with other lab technicians to maintain all teaching labs serving over 700 students.
Additionally, the role involves supporting lab safety, assisting with lab decommissioning, preparing labs for courses, and training TAs.
Minimum qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent experience, familiarity with SLA and FFF 3D printers, strong social skills, and safety experience. The position is research-focused, with a salary range of $28.01–$39.56 per hour, and offers comprehensive benefits.
