Pay Rate: $34.51 per hour
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:45PM-11:45PM

Responsibilities:

  • Setup complex parts and operate machines without supervision.
  • Interpret plans, work orders, blueprints, or drawings; full understanding of GD&T.
  • Inspect parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gauges, and comparators.
  • Finish parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
  • Examine surface of workpiece for defects before starting work.
  • Meet production and quality requirements at all times; maintain a clean work area.
  • Modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as required.
  • Use measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
  • Replace worn tools, inspect parts, and adjust tool offsets as needed.
  • Be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Drive continuous process improvements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR regulations; applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
  • Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles of 90039) will be considered.

Preferred Skills:

  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • 8 plus years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
  • Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
  • Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.
  • Familiarity/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
