The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia is expanding and adding positions for Manual Machinists.

Pay after a brief probationary period (1,050 hours) for machinists is $28.59 per hour for the first 40 hours; $42.89 for hours over 40; and $57.18 for work on the seventh consecutive day.  We also offer PRODUCTION INCENTIVE BONUS (paid weekly), Profit Sharing Bonus (twice a year - cash payment) and EXCELLENT HEALTH/DENTAL/VISION and 401(k)!!!

• Operate all equipment associated with the machine shop. This would include but not limited to the following equipment;  Conventional lathes and mills, drills, broaching, sharpening, surface grinding and other associated equipment.
• Experienced in doing own set-ups
• Must be able to make complex parts from blueprints.
• Proficient in using micrometers and precision measuring equipment.
• Familiar with machine fits concerning bearings, ways, clearances, and interference fits.
• Familiar with thread types and fits and the cutting of those threads.
• Keep work space and area clean of all machining chips, garbage, oil and grease.
• Prioritize safety with a focus on using TCOS approaches.
• Read blueprints and ability to redraw and dimension sketches.
• Non-routine hours during nights and weekends may occur, including emergency call-ins.
• Other duties as required.

• Overhead crane certification (Will Train)
• Fork truck certification(Will Train)
• Pass hands on test.
