Penmac Staffing is seeking an experienced Machinist for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a manufacturing client. This position is ideal for someone with strong CNC and manual machining experience who enjoys process improvement, troubleshooting equipment, and helping improve manufacturing operations.Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional machining experience
- Experience operating CNC machines
- Experience operating manual machines and manual lathes
- Knowledge of cutting and machining processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify process failures
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
- Ability to travel throughout the United States for training and hands-on experience
- Reliable transportation
- Strong attendance and dependability
- Ability to follow all safety rules and quality standards
Responsibilities
- Analyze and refine existing machining processes used in torque converter manufacturing
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance cutting and machining techniques
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and quality
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues
- Monitor and maintain machining equipment to ensure proper performance and minimal downtime
- Train and mentor employees on new processes and machining techniques
- Travel to manufacturing facilities for training and hands-on learning opportunities
- Enter production and process data into software systems and generate reports
- Prepare detailed reports documenting process improvements and outcomes
- Follow established safety and quality standards
- Complete other duties as assigned
