To machine and weld components to support Research & Development (R&D) and Production
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Efficiently fabricate and modify parts to print specification
Jig and weld parts to print specifications
Properly assemble and weld components to blueprint specifications
Program and operate CNC machinery including but not limited to CNC Waterjet and Press Brake
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on CNC Waterjet
Design and develop tooling, including punches, tools, and fixtures, to support complex in-house part manufacturing processes with tool and die designs
Operator manual milling machine with tight tolerances precision
Use 3D modeling to manipulate parts and models to determine bending and machining techniques
Cross train in other functions of the Machine Shop as necessary
Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS
Must be a team player, friendly, detail-oriented, and honest
Must pass various American Welding Society (AWS) tests for Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding of carbon steel and aluminum
Must have the ability to:
Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
Work within tolerance as specified by drawings, prints or verbal instruction
Work with precision tools and measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
Read and comprehend work instructions and prints
Use hand tools and standard power tools
Set up and operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses
Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work area(s)
Lift/push/pull 50lbs
Must have:
Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
Strong MIG and TIG welding and torch skills
Excellent math skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years of welding experience including the use of MIG, TIG, and aluminum
At least 3 years of experience as a machinist operating machine tools such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, press brakes, shears, and drill presses
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED
Technical school training related to machining and/or welding
PREFERRED EDUCATION
Technical school training in CNC programming preferred
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
