Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Department: Fabrication

Reports To: VP of Manufacturing

PrideStaff is proud to recruit on behalf of our client, a premier Palm Beach County manufacturing powerhouse in business for more than half a century. This is your opportunity to bring your expertise to a stable, highly respected industry leader that values precision, craftsmanship, and cutting-edge execution.

The Opportunity

As a Machinist, you aren't just running machines-you are the master of the fabrication floor. From blueprints to the final product, you will set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and precision tools to build, repair, and perfect critical components. If you take pride in flawless execution and love turning technical drawings into tangible, high-performance machinery, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do (Essential Duties)
  • Master the Machines: Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories to dominate operations on manual mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Precision Engineering: Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions with exact precision, establishing the perfect roadmap for every piece of material you touch.
  • Calculate & Control: Crunch the numbers to set flawless machining factors-regulating speeds, feed rates, coolant flow, and depth of cuts while skillfully managing computerized machine control media.
  • Own the Quality: Launch trial runs to verify absolute accuracy, monitor operations to eliminate out-of-tolerance deviations, and inspect finished workpieces to ensure perfection.
  • Build & Assemble: Fit, construct, and align complex parts into complete, high-functioning assemblies, testing every unit to guarantee top-tier performance.
  • Collaborate & Innovate: Sketch custom fabrication specifications from general descriptions and collaborate directly with engineers, programmers, and production teams to crush complex machining challenges.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Proven Expertise: High school diploma (or equivalent) backed by at least two years of hands-on, real-world experience as a machinist.
  • Technical Sharpness: Deep working knowledge of manual lathes, mills, precision measuring gear, metal properties, and advanced shop mathematics.
  • Blueprint Fluency: Sharp communication skills in English with the ability to flawlessly read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, and complex safety rules.
  • Mathematical Mind: Comfort applying geometry, trigonometry, fractions, and ratios to conquer practical, real-world fabrication problems.
  • Problem-Solving Grit: The agility to tackle variables, troubleshoot challenges, and successfully interpret instructions across written, oral, and diagram formats.
Physical Power & Stamina
  • Capability to regularly reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move dynamically across the shop floor.
  • Power to regularly lift and move 60 pounds or more.
  • Razor-sharp vision (close, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment) to maintain flawless accuracy.

Standards of Excellence

Our client plays to win. To thrive here, you will target zero failures due to misreading blueprints, keep a immaculate workspace daily, maintain stellar attendance, and bring an absolute willingness to master new technologies and techniques as the company grows.

Are you ready to elevate your machining career with a company that has defined manufacturing excellence for over 50 years? Let's talk.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $30.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
