Magento Developer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Magento Developer to support, maintain, and enhance an established eCommerce platform. This is a remote opportunity and requires someone who is comfortable working within an existing Magento environment, troubleshooting legacy functionality, and developing enhancements as business needs evolve.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on Magento experience and is comfortable working with an established codebase rather than building exclusively with the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance an existing Magento eCommerce platform.
• Develop and modify Magento modules, extensions, themes, and custom functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve application, integration, performance, and production issues.
• Support integrations with third-party applications, APIs, payment systems, and other business platforms.
• Review and improve existing code while maintaining platform stability.
• Implement enhancements and new functionality based on business requirements.
• Participate in testing, deployments, bug fixes, and ongoing system maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal technical and business teams to support eCommerce initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Magento development experience.
• Strong PHP and object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience working with existing or legacy Magento environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining Magento modules and extensions.
• Strong MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
• Experience with APIs and third-party system integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Comfortable working independently within an established codebase and remote environment.

Preferred

• Experience supporting both Magento 1 and Magento 2 environments.
• Experience with Magento upgrades or migrations.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, Git, and deployment processes.
• Experience supporting high-volume or complex eCommerce platforms.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,000–$125,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and work location.
