    Description

    Summary of Position


    The Mail Processing Lead is responsible for oversight of processing of all mail including opening, scanning, deposit of
    funds and associated activities. This is a non-exempt position.


    Accountability


    Reports to the Mail Processing Manager


    Core Responsibilities


    • Keeping the mail processed up to date.
    • Balancing and transferring the daily deposit to the bank.


    Responsibilities


    1. Oversees the opening and counting of cash envelopes prior to being sent to the initial mail processing area.
    2. Directs the daily activity of the Mail Processors. Provide input to the Mail Processing Manager on annual
    performance evaluations.
    3. Creates batches and attaches them to the daily deposit header.
    4. Balances money and reply devices accurately, accounting for each piece of mail and for all funds received. Reports
    to the Mail Processing Manager any irregularities in units noted.
    5. Processes cash and checks according to bank and accounting policies and procedures, assuring the accuracy of the
    deposit.
    6. Performs responsibilities as needed to ensure the mail production is within production goals for STJO, POSH and
    SHSM. This includes working overtime as required.
    7. Assists with processing manual deposit transactions.
    8. Maintains tight security in regard to potential theft, fraud, and sensitive information.
    9. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Mail Processing Manager.


    Qualifications


    • High School Diploma
    • Computer and/or keyboard experience required
    • Aptitude in math
    • Valid Driver’s License


    Physical Demands


    • Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
    • Mental stress may occur during peak mail times due to pressure to keep donor responses current.


    Expectations of Hours Worked


    40 hours/week
