Behind every well-run organization is someone making sure the right people have the right resources at the right time. As the Mail Room Clerk for the City of Sandy Springs, you'll play a vital role in supporting daily operations by managing mail services, coordinating deliveries, maintaining inventory, and helping keep City facilities running efficiently.
This is more than a traditional mailroom position. You'll work across multiple City facilities, assist with shipping and receiving operations, support recycling initiatives, and help maintain common areas that employees rely on every day. What You'll Do
In this role, you'll help ensure the smooth operation of City facilities by:
- Processing, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and packages for City Hall, Municipal Court, and the Police Department
- Coordinating package deliveries and tracking shipments using scanning devices and tracking software
- Maintaining inventory and restocking mailroom, storage, and breakroom supplies
- Using inventory management software to monitor stock levels and place supply requests
- Maintaining coffee, water, and ice stations throughout City facilities
- Supporting the City's recycling program by collecting recyclable materials and managing the loading dock recycling area
- Assisting with shipping, receiving, and loading dock operations
- Helping direct delivery vehicles and supporting forklift operations when needed
- Assisting with waste and recycling management to ensure safe and proper facility operations
- Providing outstanding customer service to employees, vendors, and visitors
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with access control systems or CCTV
- Forklift Operator Certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications

- Experience using computers and software applications for inventory tracking, spreadsheets, and communication

- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings, weekends, or extended hours when operational needs require
Physical Requirements
This position is active and hands-on. Candidates should be able to:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the workday
- Regularly lift and carry packages and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, scanners, and standard office equipment
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safely navigate warehouse, loading dock, and office environments
