POSITION SUMMARY: The Mail Services Specialist is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely handling of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels within a corporate, campus, or retail setting. This role ensures that all items are processed in accordance with company policies and industry standards, while providing excellent service to internal and external clients. The position will also provide a variety of support services associated with equipment, supplies and fulfillment based on customer account requirements. This role may have interaction with customers and must deliver a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives and provide solutions. The Mail Services Specialist works with minimal instruction and supervision and interacts daily with customers, managers, team members and vendors accomplishing established business objectives.“The desired location for this position would be Richmond, VA. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.” GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive)Primary responsibility for coordination of all mail and shipping related services and activitiesPick-up and deliver customer packages and mail throughout the onsiteManeuver packages with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another personAssemble packages and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages and affixing labels to parcelsOperate and maintain an automatic mail processing machine (mail meter) for outbound mailProvide customer service by determining appropriate shipping methods, informing customers of company products, services, routes, and ratesSort and prepare packages and mail for pickup or delivery to the designated mail stopsUtilize a tracking system to properly log the receipt and release of packagesUtilize pallet jacks and other large package handling equipmentEmploy investigative research for packages and mail with unknown recipientsOperate duplicating equipment (copiers, scanners) and perform routine equipment checks, if applicableAddress basic issues like paper jams or toner replacement; escalate technical issues to technicians when needed, if applicableMaintain convenience copier areas by keeping them clean and well-stocked, if applicableHandle various fulfillment tasks, such as furniture or conference room setupDeliver completed print/copy/mail items to team members at designated locationsRespond to internal customer inquiries regarding status or feasibility of service requestsPerform light filing, archiving, and housekeeping dutiesPerform additional courier or administrative tasks as assignedAll other duties as needed or requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent education required1+ year of customer service or operations experience1+ year of specialized experience preferredFamiliarity with USPS and commercial carrier processes (UPS, FedEx, DHL) preferredExperience with mailroom equipment (e.g., postage meters, envelope openers, barcode scanners) preferredExcellent verbal and written skillsProficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software applications quicklyFor new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiringFor current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member HandbookPreferred Qualifications: Pay Transparency: Pay: Additional Details: Quality Driven Management strives to deliver market-leading customer experience, business excellence, and financial return through a Quality-oriented culture and day-to-day application of Quality science.
