Description
SUMMARY General working knowledge of United States Postal Services (US Government Client) directives governing the sortation, packaging, traying and bagging of First and Third Class mailings; and ability to maintain attention to detail while meeting quality assurance and job performance standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sorts mail pieces by US Government Client order of precedence to prepare: 5 digit, 3 digit, states, mixed states and residual processed mailings.
Prepares mail trays and mail bags in accordance with US Government Client quantity/weight specifications.
Affixes mail labels to processed bags/trays, loads mail onto transporters and otherwise prepares mail for final acceptance.
Collates mail and conducts manual insert, sealing and labeling operations.
Maintains required supplies and materials needed and has responsibility for keeping work area clean.
Responsible for attaining job and quality assurance standards, and compliance with company personnel and safety policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED preferred.
No prior experience or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
